The famous trilogy by Leo Tolstoy—“Childhood” (1852), “Boyhood” (1854), “Youth” (1857)—needs no introduction. And although many people read these books in childhood “as part of the school curriculum,” these works are by no means for children. Rereading (re-listening) them as an adult is very useful. Let me remind you that “Childhood” is the writer’s first literary attempt. At the moment the book was published, he was only 24 years old! I intentionally combined all three books into one edition because, although each book is a complete work, together they form a single whole.
