In summer 2014, Islamist militants of Iraq and the Levant, with the support of various rebel groups, began a large-scale offensive against Iraqi and Kurdish forces. After capturing several cities and adjacent territories, they moved close to Baghdad. Kabir Salim—also known as Pyotr Goryunov, a double agent of intelligence who received the alias Sadakatli from the Turks—gets an assignment to infiltrate the so-called Russian battalion, which is part of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, in order to organize assistance in the fight against ISIS* for the sake of a common goal: preserving the Arab world.
*ISIS is a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation.
