In 1919, the Cheka arrests Ivan Savostyanov, the former personal pilot of Emperor Nicholas II, and offers him to make a risky flight across the fronts of the Civil War—from Moscow to Budapest—and deliver there a Comintern agent, János Perczel, whom counterintelligence of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia and the Entente is hunting.
