A young vampire is suspected of murdering her beloved incubus. There are no other options considered, because an incubus can be killed only by extracting all of his power—which only his chosen one can do.
But a lot of questions arise: why was a knife thrust into the chest of an incubus who was already dead? Why is the top part of the figurine on the nightstand broken off? What aromas were they trying to hide under the sharp smell of a flower? All these details torment attorney Valery Manse, who, despite the obvious hopelessness of the case, decides to defend the accused vampire in court.
