Description
One of the main monuments of Chinese thought and of all Chinese culture, which became the canon of Daoist practice

Dao De Jing — “The Canon of Dao and De” — one of the main monuments of Chinese thought and all Chinese culture. It arose in the era of the Eastern Zhou (8th–3rd centuries BCE) and later was presented in the form of a canon. It incorporated several centuries of experience of Daoist practice.

The Dao De Jing contains the core concepts of Daoism, explaining them at a wide variety of levels. The layered meanings embedded in the canon allow readers to rediscover all its aspects again and again as they progress personally.

Each stanza of the new modern translation is also presented in the language of the original, which enables additional work with the text. The book will be of interest both to specialists in Sinology of any profile and to those who are interested in the philosophy and culture of classical China.
