Maya stands at the edge of the forest. The trees intertwine, forming a dark tunnel into which—somehow—she has to go. Fear locks her movements. Maya screams and wakes up. It was only a dream. But why does it haunt her for years, each time forcing her to freeze with terror? Maya never would have found the answer if not for her six-year-old brother. The forest is the boundary between two realities, and little Robi, wandering through it in his sleep by accident, can no longer find his way back. The only guide is Maya herself. The girl has just three days to find the boy. If she doesn’t make it, she won’t be able to return at all. And worst of all, outsiders like her are considered monsters beyond the forest and are executed. Maya must not only save her brother, but also remember what happened to her years ago. The reader will have to piece the puzzle together alongside Maya—figuring out who here is a friend and who is an enemy. Illustrations: Tatyana Petrovska.
