Description
A trilogy by the writer Franz Nikolaevich Taurin. In the novels “Penal Plant” (“Katorzhny zavod”), “The Partisan Mother of God” (“Партизанская богородица”), and “The Roaring Threshold” (“Гремящий порог”), included in the trilogy, the continuity of revolutionary working-class traditions is shown over the course of a century.
The action of all three novels takes place in the same places—in the districts of Nizhny Angara.
In “Penal Plant,” the author shows how, in the 1860s, at the state-run Nikolayev cast-iron foundry, the first flickers of revolutionary protest emerge.
The events in “The Partisan Mother of God” develop during the years of the Civil War.
In the concluding novel of the trilogy, “The Roaring Threshold,” the story is told of the construction of a huge Siberian power station.
