It’s 1910. In the village, six-year-old Min’ka Vorobyov is called the devil’s tribe. He is disliked and feared—because of a gift he received from his great-great-grandmother. The boys avoid Min’ka and don’t let him join their games. His mother makes him pray and keep fasts, trying to drive devils out of her son. If not for Min’ka’s only friend Vaska, his life would be even more bitter.
