What Is Behind the Wall?

Physicist Anton Yerokhin has been working for years on the problem of the multiplicity of worlds. He is helped by a young graduate student, Svetlana Odintsova. Despite all his efforts, his setup doesn’t work. To get rid of a research topic that’s useless from the standpoint of funding, the authorities send Anton together with the installation to Siberia, to the military. Svetlana is left in Moscow. After Anton’s parachuting from a military plane, they mistake him for a saboteur and take him prisoner, while the installation disappears without a trace.
