This book continues the adventures of Lord Emsworth, his son Freddie, Baxter, and other characters. Due to his absent-mindedness, Lord Emsworth carries a valuable item—an impressive Scarab—inside his pocket, which makes up the pride of the collection of his future son-in-law, the multimillionaire gentleman Mr. Peters. Mr. Peters, in turn, hires Ains to return it—or rather, to steal the scarab from Lord Emsworth. It all ends well, as it always does with Wodehouse.
