Nikolay Ivanov was born in 1956 in the city of Bryansk. He studied in the Moscow Suvorov Military School and served in the Airborne Forces school. A career officer of the Airborne Forces. He fought in Afghanistan, was awarded the “For Service to the Fatherland” order and the “For Courage” medal. He went through Chechen captivity. Author of books “Black Berets,” “Storm over Gindukush,” “Outlook,” “Maroseyka, 12. Urgent...,” “Women’s Beach,” “Going into Captivity Is Free,” “Special Forces That Won’t Return,” and others. Member of the Union of Writers of Russia, laureate of literary prizes “Stalingrad,” named after M. Bulgakov and N. Ostrovsky.
