Four Years in the South Seas

Four Years in the South Seas

9 hrs. 33 min.
Description
The work is a collage of Fanny Stevenson’s notes written in her diaries from 1890–1893, during the Stevensons’ stay in Samoa, as well as excerpts from R. L. Stevenson’s “Vailima Letters” and his article “A Note on the Story: Eight Years of Upset in Samoa.” In addition, two Stevenson letters that are not included in “Vailima Letters” and some other epistolary materials are used. The compiler of the collage is the American literary scholar Charles Neider (Charles Neider), who discovered F. Stevenson’s diaries in the museum of the city of Monterey (California) and deciphered them.
