1943. The ring of the blockade around Leningrad has been broken, but full victory for the Red Army in this sector is still far away. The enemy does everything to hold their positions, making every rise in the swampy terrain impassable. One such position has been ordered to be taken by our infantry battalion. Understanding how difficult the coming battle will be, the infantry is ordered help from the tank company commander, Lieutenant Alexei Sokolov. However, command forbids maneuvering, citing terrain that is impassable for vehicles. On the approaches to the height, the battalion falls into an ambush.
