The novel “Black Pearl” is a journey into the history of Ossetia—into those times when Mongols invaded her lands. The ancient city of Fatrаn rapidly dies under the ruthless Mongols, losing the greater part of its warriors and townspeople. The son of the city’s elder, believing that resisting the enemy and condemning oneself to certain, meaningless death is pointless, proposes to his father to submit to the invaders.
