This story began with an unexpected phone call. A fashionable detective-writer, Frank Fense, got a call from a familiar police officer.
In the bay near a coastal town, the body of a young woman is found. The killer “copied” the murder from the pages of Frank Fense’s manuscript—published nowhere yet.
The writer realizes he could become the main suspect and decides to conduct his own investigation.
