The manuscripts of Pushkin and memories of him by contemporaries appeared abroad along with his friends and relatives. The author — V. M. Fridkin (Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; published in “Novy Mir,” “Oktyabr,” “Nauka i Zhizn”; his work was appreciated by N. Ya. Eydelman) knows many of Pushkin’s descendants. In the USA, England, Italy, France he found many new details about the poet, about the people close to him, and about those involved in his death. But the book is not only about Pushkin. It includes a cycle of other stories as well.
