The collection includes Vladimir Nabokov’s best-known prose plays: the drama “A Man from the USSR,” the dramatic-comedic work “The Event,” and the drama “The Invention of Waltz,” created in Germany and France between 1926 and 1938. Unlike his early poetic works, these plays are written in prose and continue to explore themes and plots typical of Nabokov. The conflicts in these works are both relevant and gripping. “A Man from the USSR” was found among archived drafts and had never been published before, while “The Invention of Waltz” is presented in an expanded version.
