Aino Pervik (Raud) (1932) is a prose writer, poet, translator, literary critic, and children's author. She graduated from the University of Tartu. She worked as an editor of children's and young adult literature at the Estonian state publishing house, then as an editor of children's and youth television programs on Estonian television. She was awarded the Order of the White Star, 5th Class, and is a laureate of the J. Smuul and F. Tuglas literary prizes. For children she has published prose books, the most popular of which are: “Arabella, the Pirate's Daughter,” the dilogy “Old Mother Mora” and “Old Mother Mora and Captain Trumm,” and others.
