The Seagull

1 hr. 48 min.
Description
Anton Chekhov is an outstanding Russian writer, prose author, and playwright. His works have long gained worldwide recognition. The play “The Seagull,” one of the loudest achievements of his career, has been staged many times both at home and abroad and has become one of the symbols of Russian theater. No wonder the seagull is featured on the emblem of the Moscow Art Theatre (MХТ) named after A. P. Chekhov. The play is also an enduring part of the school curriculum in literature. We present an audio performance of “The Seagull,” created based on this work.

The action takes place in the provinces, in the estate of a high-ranking official. Creative people have gathered here: some are successful, others live with dreams of success. But neither group is truly happy. Against the backdrop of countless complications in their relationships and what seem like insignificant dialogues, a real drama unfolds involving a young girl whose fate has been ruined by a fateful passion, and a young writer who is in love with her.
