Mikhail Shpolyansky (1955–2014) is a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a writer and publicist, a father of many children who raised three of his own and 11 adopted children. The popularity of his books goes far beyond the church-going reading audience. Almost all of Father Mikhail’s stories are autobiographical. Reading them, you can’t help but be amazed at how interesting and diverse his life was. Perhaps it’s all about the author’s ability to see what’s interesting, funny, and unusual in places where others would have passed by with indifference.
