The murder of Anna Pereslavina shocked the city with its cruelty: the girl became the victim of an unknown person who performed a monstrous pagan ritual. The pathologist Adam Tynin believed the killer repeated an ancient Aztec ritual—a highly developed civilization of the Indians destroyed by the Spanish conqueror Cortés.
