Alice and Jake are the perfect couple: they’re young and successful. Everything in their lives is wonderful—they’re in love and celebrating a lavish wedding where one of the guests proposes that the newlyweds join some community and sign a playful marriage contract. And the happy lovers, being frivolous, agree, because the community’s goal is wonderful: to keep the family together until death does them part…and so on.
All they have to do is follow simple rules: always answer when your spouse calls, exchange gifts, be attentive and patient, and never lie. But only Alice and Jake weren’t told what will happen if either of them breaks the rules. And mistakes are inevitable—nobody of us is perfect, right?
