Ivan Ivanovich Lyubenko is a modern detective author who combines his work as a lawyer with literary writing. The plots of his works are complex, yet very believable, and they keep readers interested until the end of the book. His most popular novels are the ones about the attorney and, at the same time, detective Klim Ardasev, based on which even a TV series was made. However, the novel presented here has its own independent plot—it doesn’t take place at the beginning of the 20th century, but at its very end. The main character of the book is a writer, author of detective novels. While resting in Egypt, he meets a mysterious old man who speaks and behaves as if he were born more than a century earlier—much earlier than that. The old man’s equally mysterious disappearance follows. The writer starts remembering and returns in his thoughts to events from fifteen years ago—the early 1990s. That strange story has some resemblance to the present, but it began quite differently… The details are in the audiobook.
