A conference interpreter arrives in The Hague to work at the International Criminal Court. She hopes this city will become her new home, but itโs difficult for her to bond with people because of her particular ability to feel and convey changes in tone and mood. Her work with a former African president accused of crimes against humanity becomes a true test. Her personal life is full of drama as well, due to her relationship with a man going through a divorce. All of this pushes her to the edge of despair, and the only way to save herself is to find her own voice.
