Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness Are the Keys to Understanding the True Nature of the Universe

This book offers a new perspective on the nature of reality. We start from the premise that modern physical theories do not work—and simply won’t work—until two most important components of our world are taken into account: life and consciousness. We believe that life and consciousness are among the fundamental factors necessary for understanding the Universe, and are by no means random by-products of lifeless physical processes that have unfolded over billions of years. We call this new scientific paradigm “biocentrism.” Biocentrism formalizes the fundamental work that lays new directions for physical and cosmological research. In our book, we outline the principles of biocentrism, which are entirely based on established scientific facts, but at the same time require rethinking modern theories about the physical organization of the Universe.
