Description
Alexander Pavlovich Lopukhin is an outstanding Russian biblical scholar, theologian, and writer.
By collecting and analyzing enormous chronological, archaeological, historical, and ethnographic material, Lopukhin created a monumental work — “A Guide to Biblical History.” These commentaries on the books of the Holy Scripture of the Old and New Testaments, to this day, remain the most authoritative, competent, complete, correct, and detailed Russian-language interpretation of the Bible.
Conceived as a work meant to popularize theological scholarship and to support spiritual upbringing, written in an accessible and easy language, Lopukhin’s Explanatory Bible is intended for the widest circle of readers.
