The Analects

The treatise “Lun-yu” was required reading in classical education in China for many centuries. In 1910 it was translated into Russian by Pavel Stepanovich Popov, the greatest Russian Sinologist of his time. The translation is distinguished by accuracy, expressiveness, and closeness to the original, making it a valuable source of information about ancient Chinese philosophy.
