The White Steamship

The story takes place in a remote forest outpost, high in the mountains, far from any inhabited places. A seven-year-old boy—his grandfather’s grandson, Mоmun’s grandson—lives alone among adults, with no friends, no mother, and no father; he is “abandoned.” Only his grandfather Momun loves and pities him—kind, but weak-willed, powerless.
