Erich Fromm is one of the most famous philosophers and theoretician psychologists whose ideas had an enormous influence not only on psychology, but also on philosophy, anthropology, history, and sociology. Fromm is encyclopedic and many-sided. He turns to different cultures, to mythology and religious texts, to Eastern religion and world philosophy. Through his works, Fromm radically changed the consciousness of his era. His contribution to psychology is the study of the inexhaustible world of the human being. In the author’s understanding, “escape from freedom” is the conscious enslavement of one’s own personality. A person doesn’t want to bear the burden of responsibility. He willingly accepts slavery… So what will a person choose—slavery or freedom?
