A major businessman travels to meet a friend, but at the meeting spot a sniper is waiting. Before dying, the victim manages to utter strange words: “white moths.”

Fifteen years earlier, in a school for gifted children in southern Ukraine, a nun dies suddenly, managing to exhale only the single words the frightened student Ivanna hears: “white moths.”

The strange coincidence between the death of a famous businessman and an almost forgotten childhood story pushes Ivanna to begin an investigation, during which she learns about a powerful secret organization. Its members call themselves “white moths,” or “designers.” Since the time of the Roman Empire, they have influenced the course of world history. Ivanna realizes that the secrets of her own past contain the key not only to her personal salvation…
