This course is for everyone who once studied human anatomy at school and enjoyed diving into the mysteries of how the nervous system works—the most complex and cleverly arranged one, with the brain at the top—yet then irrevocably walked away from biology. This course is for you, curious “humanitarians” and “techies” who don’t have a background in biological or medical education: if there’s still a spark of interest inside you in how we’re made, how we think, how we feel, and how we perceive the world. Here you won’t find complicated specialized information. In essence, it’s a course on the physiology of the nervous system told in a vivid language, with living, “human” examples from history (even scientists have oddities that sometimes push science forward), and with explanations of what modern neuroscience works on—and how. The course will help you form a basic understanding of the brain and the nervous system so that later you can continue your journey into the human brain more consciously and confidently.
