Series: “School Library”
For young listeners, a collection of vivid fables by Ivan Andreevich Krylov is offered. Krylov himself believed that a fable—like any work of art—should be simple and understandable: “And the casket simply opened!” These were his “caskets,” full of treasures of folk wisdom. Many expressions from his fables became catchphrases and turned into proverbs and sayings. Pushkin believed that Krylov’s fable writing has “cheerful slyness” characteristic of the Russian way of thinking.
