Banal Stories

Andrey Valentynovich Zhvalevsky and Evgeniya Borisovna Pasternak are a successful writing duo, winners of many literary awards. Along with interesting fantastic plots, the authors often tackle sharp social themes related to the problems of children and teenagers, and they ask important questions for them.

“Banal Stories” is a collection of nine stories whose plots are anything but banal, even though the circumstances seem ordinary. In each of these stories about sixth-graders and their parents, different perspectives and points of view are presented on the same problem. The plots don’t repeat: here you have adapting a newcomer in class, rivalry between sisters, helping animals, and the loss of a child in a shopping center… These stories show that even the most ordinary thing in life is always unique, because people are very different, and the world is full of surprising and unpredictable events.
