Ikigai detectives is a series of cozy Japanese detective novels that combine the philosophy of harmony, the search for life’s purpose, and the ability to find joy in details.
The story continues with the book that follows “Ask Grandma Shizuka.”
Even at 80, former judge Shizuka remains an example for the younger generation and others. She is respected, and she regularly gives lectures at educational institutions. At one of these lectures, she meets a talkative old man, Gentaro, the head of the district.
Gentaro is already seventy and moves around in a wheelchair, but his zest for life and energy haven’t faded. Emotional and impulsive, he is a complete contrast to strict and sensible Shizuka. Still, their fates intertwine, and together they begin investigating crimes.
She values logical thinking over feelings.
He can’t stop once something starts.
Together they form, perhaps, an amazing (or catastrophic?) duo of energetic older detectives capable of solving the most complicated crimes.
