Angels of Vengeance: Women Snipers of the Great Patriotic War

The sniper movement in the Red Army began during critical moments of the war in the autumn of 1941 on the Leningrad Front. By 1943, the army had its first female sniper units. Many of these “angels of revenge” destroyed dozens of enemies. Not all of them survived the war, but those who returned again lived the ordinary lives of Soviet women, even though the Great Patriotic War remained the main event of their lives.
