Description
The collection includes selected works of Petr Alekseyevich Kropotkin (1842–1921), a Russian revolutionary anarchist. As a curious scientist and highly educated man, P. A. Kropotkin tried to provide some scientific foundation for anarchism and to show, in a reasoned manner, why it was necessary. For him, anarchism was a philosophy of human society. Kropotkin’s method of knowing is based on the single law of solidarity and mutual aid and support that applies to all. He sought to prove that Darwin’s statement about the struggle for existence should be understood as a struggle between species and mutual aid within species. Mutual aid and solidarity are engines of progress.
