Description
Lydia Peres owns a small bookstore in the Mexican city of Acapulco, where she lives with her husband Sebastian, a journalist, and their eight-year-old son Luca. After Sebastian’s article is published in the newspaper, exposing a local drug cartel, the gangsters carry out a bloody massacre in which they kill all Lydia’s relatives and loved ones — sixteen people. Only she and Luca survive by a miracle.
Realizing they are now being hunted, mother and son flee Acapulco. Saving their lives, they head north toward the border with the United States.
