His heart squeezed; with an outpouring of feelings, his eyes filled with tears.
“— I’ll rush inside, by God, I’ll rush in,” whispered Mishka and said loudly: “Cosmonaut Bobov requests permission to enter.”
“— Repeat! Who?”
And it cheered Mishka up.
“— Who? A tax inspector. I levy a duty on comets and planets, as well as small astronomical bodies.”
A long pause made him worry, but then the hatch shuddered—and, jamming his fingers into the opening gap, Bobov tore the door open into… continued life."
