Larisa Vasilieva, known to readers for being the author of many poetry collections, spent six years living and working in England. The result of her observations and encounters was a collection of stories about that country. The narration is in the first person: you feel the immediacy of a person speaking about herself, but what we see is not an autobiographical portrait of the writer—rather, her lyrical heroine, participant in and commentator on events.
