The Actress

In a short but highly vivid story titled “The Actress,” the author describes with precision the hope and despair of an already not-so-young actress. She lives in her own world, where all the spectators sit at her feet, where the best directors offer the best roles. All her life, she has been trying with all her might to turn this dream into reality. For this, the actress for many years is ready to place everything on the altar. But not everyone is willing to accept her sacrifice. In her world, she is an Actress—young and beautiful. And it doesn’t matter that she’s currently sitting in line for yet another casting for yet another film company, and once again for her there is nothing—even for a small cameo role. Hope is replaced by despair. And so deep that the actress decides to take an action that she may later regret.
