Jan Brzechwa wrote for children and for adults, in verse and prose. But especially he loved to write fairy tales, and perhaps the most interesting of them are the tales about Mr. Klekss (Pan Kleks). Pan Klekss is a completely unusual person. Nobody knows whether he is a wizard or a magician, whether he is fat or thin, whether he is an adult or a child. He can be anything: wise and mischievous, inventive and slow to guess, all-powerful and helpless. But he is always himself—the mysterious and incomprehensible Pan Klekss.
