Adachigahara

The Valley of Misfortune, which locals call Adachigahara, even in sunlight stirred a feeling of anxiety in the soul—and at night it became truly terrifying. A Black Mountain and dense forests with viscous swamps did little to encourage admiring nature or writing poems. Still, this place was famous for the turquoise waters of the Abukuma River, healing herbs, and masters of the smithy. And yōkai (strange spirits) too.
