After saying goodbye to summer, Vika returned home on August 31 by the usual road—and after a minor incident, she suddenly found herself in an unfamiliar place. Without fully understanding what happened, she ended up in Ovo, full of riddles and magic. Ovo is part of the Eighth World, which once was one, but now consists of fragments of worlds separated by a thick, dark fog.
In the morning it’s August 32. Enchanted by the surrounding wonders, Vika meets unusual inhabitants of Ovo and learns about the dark walkers—fearless wanderers between worlds who bring messages from other fragments. Vika must, no matter what, get into the world of Quidama—because it seems there is a person there who knows how she can return to autumn, to her mother, to her ordinary world without magic, where no one grows dreams and no one bakes laughter. Together with her new friends, Vika sets off on a journey, and she has no idea yet how many dangers will be waiting for her along the way.
