Antiu topia is a genre that has grown incredibly popular recently. And probably not least because the bleakest predictions of science-fiction writers have a habit of coming true. Sometimes—almost literally, as in Orwell’s ominous “1984”; sometimes—partly, as with Zamyatin, Bradbury, and Huxley.
Coincidence? A match? But once, people considered the Word to be prophets, who sometimes, in bright bursts, revealed the future. So maybe it’s worth looking more carefully at the coming day drawn by the imagination of today’s science-fiction writers?
