The astro-engineering device built around a black hole is what locals call the Heavenly Throne. And inside it is Eternity. It’s a kind of afterlife where, after death, the chosen Ascendants go to gain immortality. But unlike the earthly world, it is absolutely real—and from there, sometimes, visitors descend, calling themselves emissaries of Eternity. Guests? Or owners? Legends say that the Kell civilization, which created a Dyson sphere, three galactic orbits ago forever left for Eternity to become all-powerful gods there.
