From the Zone in St. Petersburg comes quite strange news: the anomalous lands have acquired a bizarre inhabitant—one that’s hard to imagine even for experienced scientists, people who don’t believe in devils or gods, and who have seen everything in life from hired mercenaries. Who are they kidding? Even the Keepers themselves became interested in the newcomer! And only an ordinary technician from the Polygon was briefly surprised by the existence of this, in every sense, unusual creature. No wonder—during their first meeting it saved the vagabond’s life, and then led him to the scariest place in these already terrifying lands—Mrakolesye! Yes, the newcomer isn’t afraid of mutants; it can distinguish anomalies even at night; and it has collected artifacts that no stalker has ever seen. It’s the Zone—what’s there to be surprised at?
