Robert Thorn, an American diplomat, upon arriving at the hospital learns that his wife has given birth to a stillborn child. His wife doesn’t know yet, and Robert is offered to adopt the baby born on the same day—the 6th day of the 6th month. The nurse convinced him that the mother died during childbirth and had no relatives. Robert agrees, saying nothing to his wife.

Soon the parents notice odd things about their son: he’s never been sick; he’s afraid of churches; and people around him die…
