The Smell of Thought

A small mail ship is wrecked on an uncharted planet. Observing the far-from-friendly animals, the pilot suddenly notices that they have neither eyes nor ears. It turns out they see and hear telepathically and are quite eager to feast on a thinking object. The pilot needs to hold out until rescuers arrive, but how do you make yourself stop thinking?
