In a prestigious school in Moscow, student Svetlana Nikolaeva disappears without a trace. Literature teacher Alisa Melnikova, struck by everyone’s indifference, decides to find out what happened herself and begins her own search. For support, she turns to writer Vladimir Morozov, who leads her to detective Fyodor Ilyin. But the investigation stalls: Svetlana’s relatives and acquaintances don’t rush to speak openly and clearly, hiding something. Then Alisa finds private investigator Sergey Koltsov on the internet, and together they continue the search. Gradually, the case reveals a complicated web of intrigues, family secrets, and carefully hidden motives, uncovering the dark underside of a seemingly prosperous life.
