Not so long ago, young men dreamed of going to space, but now the trend is a healthy lifestyle and historical reenactment. Yaroslav Feofilov decided not to fall behind either, and after preparing thoroughly he went to the Smolensk region for the historical festival “The Call of Rurik.”
How surprised he was when, with all his brand-new weapons and gear, he ended up in the very real 9th century—in the “urban-type settlement” of Gnezdovo.
Here reigns squalor and everyone’s apathetic indifference; the locals treat advice from a visiting know-it-all with total disregard, always trying to kill and rob Yaroslav—or at least just rob him. Even the threat of a Viking takeover of the “PGT Gnezdovo” led by the ruler Khreorik is unable to unite the population. Feofilov will have to, at his own expense, save his ancestors from invasion and enslavement.
